In September the library traditionally presents a program on the history of our community, and this year we’ll be examining life in Elkhorn in the years leading up to America’s entry into World War II. Using articles and editorials from the Elkhorn Independent, letters home from draftees, and vintage advertisements from local companies gearing up for rationing and rearmament, we will revisit the uncertain days leading up to the fateful attack on Pearl Harbor in December of 1941.
