Treats for Sight
Treats for Sight
Drop off your unneeded eyeglasses October 22nd through November 3rd at Dr. John E. Hall's Office at 419 N. Wisconsin Street, Elkhorn and receive a special treat for helping the Lions Club provide improved sight to a needy person. Donations can be taken to Dr. Hall's office Monday through Friday form 8am to 5pm, Thursday until 7pm and Saturday 8am until Noon. Watch for other sites while "trick or treating" to drop unneeded eyewear.
Refractive errors can be easily corrected with eyeglasses, yet millions in developing nations lack access to basic eye care services. According to the World Health Organization, the eyesight of approximately one-fourth of the would's population can be improved through the use of a corrective lens.
Donated frames will be used both domestically and internationally to improve vision of those who cannot afford eye care. With the donated frames trained Lion volunteers and eye care professionals perform vision screenings and dispense the appropriate recycled glasses, free of charge, to needy children and adults.
