Watch the Eclipse at the Library!
This August a rare, once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event will take place: a total Solar Eclipse - the first since 1979! Although Elkhorn isn’t in an area that will see a 100% eclipse, we will still be able to enjoy the sun covered by about 88% of the moon, so it should still be very spectacular.
The day of the eclipse, you can visit us here at the library and pick up your free eclipse-viewing glasses, and join us in seeing this astronomical event. The eclipse will begin in this area at 11:54am, and will be at its strongest point at 1:18pm. You’re welcome to bring folding chairs and blankets to set out on the grass. We’ll also be streaming the eclipse on our big screen projector in the Community Center for those who would rather watch it inside, or in case of bad weather. We hope you can come and experience this amazing event with us!
