Recreation
Great golfing can be found on four public courses, all located within a few minutes drive of Elkhorn. Evergreen Golf Club, located right here in Elkhorn, is a Golf Digest four–star Best Places to Play Facility and offers 27 holes of scenic golfing. Alpine Valley Resort also offers 27 holes of golf, and in the winter, they have downhill skiing and snowboarding trails for everyone.
The White River State Trail is a 12.6 mile limestone trail that runs through beautiful countryside and travels from Elkhorn to just west of Burlington. The trail is great for walking, hiking, snowmobiling, and there’s even a 2 mile stretch that is open for horseback riding.
Lauderdale Lakes is located 6 miles north of Elkhorn and consists of a small chain of three lakes; Mill, Middle and Green Lakes. Local residents and visitors alike enjoy fishing, boating, golfing, water-skiing, swimming and sailing. In the winter Lauderdale Lakes welcomes ice-fisherman, ice boaters, skaters and cross-country skiers.

Parks
Elkhorn’s park system consists of several parks, all of which are unique.
Sunset Park
Elkhorn’s premier park is where the Park & Recreation Administration Center is located. The park offers a wide array of activities, such as baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, public swimming pool, picnic and playground areas. It is also home to Elkhorn’s historic bandshell where the Holton Elkhorn Band performs concerts each summer.
Babe Mann Park
The largest park at 34 acres where Elkhorn Lake is located. The lake offers canoeing and fishing, but no swimming. It also has picnic areas and a combination cross-country skiing, hiking and bike trail.
